How much does it cost to use Tradiespy?
Nothing. Posting a job and receiving quotes is free for homeowners. You only ever pay the tradie you choose, at the price you agree with them.
How quickly will I get quotes?
Most jobs get their first quote within the hour during working days. Quiet trades or rural areas can take a little longer.
Am I obligated to accept a quote?
No. Quotes are no-obligation. Compare them, ask questions in chat, and accept only if one suits. You can also let them all expire.
Are the tradies checked?
Every business is reviewed before it can quote. We check the business details they register with (NZBN/ABN), their trade and coverage area, and ID documents. Businesses that get poor feedback can be removed.
Can I talk to a tradie before accepting?
Yes. Each quote comes with a built-in chat so you can send photos, ask about timing, and confirm what's included before you commit.
Why can't we swap phone numbers in chat?
Contact details are hidden until you accept a quote. That keeps your number private, keeps the conversation on record, and protects both sides if something goes wrong.
What areas do you cover?
All of New Zealand. Pick your town or suburb when you post and we'll match tradies who cover that area.
What if something goes wrong with the job?
Message us through the contact page with the job details. We'll look at the chat history, follow up with the business, and act on the feedback you leave.
